With the festive season in full swing and 2018 fast approaching, now seems like the perfect time to reflect on my business year.
At Marketing Vision HQ, we’ve had a busy year. We kicked off 2017 with our new website. Then it was straight into joining the Country Living Team for their series of Build-A-Business Days around the country, January through to March. We’ve had an office refurb, photoshoot, PR coverage, new clients and more.
We’ve worked on many interesting projects and as ever, have met many brilliant people along the way. There have been lots of great business moments and opportunities. But outside of working with our wonderful small business clients, here are my personal top 5 highlights:
1. Guest speaking for Country Living:
I was delighted to re-join the Country Living Team as they took their sell-out Build-A-Business Day event nationwide. First stop Birmingham! Followed by Bristol, Henley-on-Thames and Tunbridge Wells. What an inspiration each day was – hearing from so many amazing speakers and meeting many budding entrepreneurs. I have also had the great pleasure to go on and work with a number of attendees.
2. A full-page profile in Country Living magazine:
I was honoured to be interviewed by Country Living magazine and profiled in their June issue as a business expert. In the feature, I shared my start-up story and tips for running a successful business. The piece generated a number of enquiries (including one from Cyprus!) and new business.
3. A new-look for Marketing Vision HQ:
Brand colours (including a blue wall!), new furniture, lighting and some fabulous wall art – it was absolutely brilliant to create a new look for Marketing Vision HQ in the springtime. The business has come such a long way from when I first started out and made the jump from corporate career to my own consultancy. I now have a bright, light and contemporary office space to work from. And the ‘breakout’ area is perfect for visiting clients too.
4. Photoshoot with Tina Bolton:
Having my photo taken is not my favourite thing, but Tina Bolton made the shoot relaxed and enjoyable. And it has been brilliant to have professional shots easily on hand for press opportunities and various other projects. Tina also subsequently wrote a great post sharing her top tips for a successful photoshoot – thank you Tina!
5. In the same feature at Richard Branson:
I never imagined that I would be in the same feature at Richard Branson – but that’s what happened when I contributed to a brilliant Forbes’ feature, ‘The Stress-Busting Secrets of Successful Entrepreneurs’. Has he read it? Unlikely! But it still felt good to see my name alongside his nonetheless. Especially when it was tweeted out by Forbes themselves who have over 3 million followers!
There are lots of plans in the pipeline for Marketing Vision in 2018. Early in the New Year we have our exciting brand refresh to launch, along with some fantastic small business marketing packages. We have been extremely busy working on both of these projects behind the scenes over the past few months. We can’t wait to show you! Lots more to come, so stay tuned.
